The first, of course, being Les Miserables (PG-13)
The good: This movie is breath taking, quite literally I was wheezing for breathe because of all the crying. The story is powerful, the sets, lighting, sound, and raw emotion was undeniably good. Ann Hathaway's portrayal of Fantine was definitely worthy of an Oscar. There's the bad: the singing talent of all the actors wasn't Broadway good, especially scenes with Russell Crowe. Also be prepared that it is entirely singing, maybe a brief two minutes of dialog, my husband was a little thrown off by this. I personally loved this The ugly; there is going to be a spoiler in this if you don't know the storyline. Fantine becomes a prostitute, so there is a gritty scene with her near the beginning of the film. Also the inn keepers played by Sasha Baron-Cohen and Helena Bonham add some "ugly" to the film. I personally think their characters are brilliantly done, but I'll give a fair warning somethings they do and say are a little crude. All in all I left this movie wanting to own it and watch it over and over!
The second, Warm Bodies (PG-13)
Brief background this it's your typically zombie movie. R (the zombie above) meets and forms a relationship with a living girl, their relationship sets into motion changes that just might change their new world. haha If that doesn't make you interested here is the good, the bad, and the "ugly". The good: this movie truly has it all, action, drama, humor and romance and it does everyone of them very well. The storyline here is great, the humor while not as often as a expected will definitely make you laugh. The bad: I actually can't say anything here I thoroughly enjoyed it. The "ugly": well unfortunately they use their allotted amount of F words, and it is a zombie movie so you will see some people being eaten. I left this movie not feeling bad at all that my husband and I had to pay over 17 bucks to see it.
My finally thought, head to the movies this weekend!
